A Simple Mala for Regular Japa
I wanted a Japa Mala that felt simple and natural, and this Amrud wood mala from SRKC suited what I was looking for. The wooden beads have a very earthy appearance and I liked the fact that every bead has a slightly natural character. The 108+1 arrangement is exactly what I wanted for my regular Naam-Japa. The 6 mm beads are also comfortable to move through while chanting, and the hand-woven thread gives the mala a traditional look. I particularly liked the overall length because it is easy to hold while sitting for japa or meditation. The mala has a very understated beauty to it. Nothing excessive, just a well-made traditional Japa Mala. My experience with the product has been very good.
